ABOUT
Carter Voras (they/him) is a self-taught visual artist from the US who works primarily with acrylic paint and other 2D media. Voras graduated in 2021 from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in French translation and a minor in Studio Arts and Design.
In 2022, Carter was selected for participation in Proyecto Ace’s residency program, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in which they created works inspired by the region and culture of the city, including a mural that would permanently occupy the residency building and a solo exhibition entitled Decimation/ Aniquilacion.
In 2023, they were selected for the MARNMentorship program, where they would serve as a mentee to artist Grant Gill to further develop ideas and practices. For the past year, Carter has been assisting as co-founder and co-curator of Some Fools Gallery, a Milwaukee DIY gallery with the mission of making the art world more accessible to Milwaukee-area emerging and student artists.
